Hello September! There are so many changes happening in our world. As fall approaches it’s always important to stop and enjoy the crisp air the next few months will give us. We are moving on to a new season in life and some things may look different this year such as school plans or attending fall sports. I decided to compile a few fall features that you should be sure to put on your calendar.
Create a Fall Bucket List
Fun ideas may include apple picking or bobbing, having a bonfire, visiting a corn maze, creating a leaf craft, burning fall candles, baking a pumpkin treat, or jumping in the leaves. The list can go on and on of fun things to do in the crisp air.
While you are enjoying all the fun things fall has to offer, there are some important fall maintenance items that I want to remind you to take care of with your home.
Here are some items for you to prepare your home for fall:
Remove any dead or dying limbs from the trees, cut back your landscaping, fertilize and reseed your lawn, and winterize in-ground sprinklers/irrigation systems.
Inside the House
Clean out gutters and downspouts, check weather stripping around doors and windows, check your weather seal at the bottom of the garage door, take a trip on the top of your roof while weather allows, turn off outdoor plumbing, store your hose inside, fix any exterior paint that is peeling before the weather makes it worse, and since you will be spending more time indoors in the future, clean your windows for a nice view.
Outside the House
Have your HVAC serviced, check all smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, make a dedicated space for fall coats, reverse your fans, break out the humidifier, and change your air filters.
Hope you cross off a few items off this fall checklist. Questions? Our team is always just a phone call away. Let’s get together and enjoy a pumpkin spice coffee.
